Standard and Gadol — The Foundation
Standard gematria (Mispar Hechrachi) assigns Aleph=1 through Tav=400. Gadol extends to the five final letter forms (500-900).
Standard gematria (Mispar Hechrachi) is the foundation of all Hebrew numerology. The system is simple: Aleph through Tet = 1–9, Yod through Tsade = 10–90, Qof through Tav = 100–400. Every word becomes a number, and every number resonates with every word that shares it.
But the Standard system has a limitation: five Hebrew letters have special "final forms" used at the end of words — Kaf sofit (ך), Mem sofit (ם), Nun sofit (ן), Pe sofit (ף), and Tsade sofit (ץ). In Standard gematria, these final forms have the same value as their regular versions. The Gadol ("great") method assigns them values of 500, 600, 700, 800, and 900 respectively — extending the alphabet's range from 400 all the way to 900.
This extension matters. The word "Yerushalayim" (Jerusalem, ירושלים) contains a final Mem. In Standard gematria, it equals 596. In Gadol, the final Mem becomes 600, giving Jerusalem a value of 1,156. Different methods reveal different connections — each one a new angle of light illuminating the same diamond.

Three example words demonstrate.

Smooth animations, precise geometry, educational clarity. The five final letters (ך ם ן ף ץ) emerge with their special values: 500, 600, 700, 800, 900. Words containing finals calculate to different values than standard.
