Season 4
The Twelve Simples — Part I
ה ו ז ח ט י — Months and Constellations
Twelve letters with a single sound, governing the twelve months, zodiac signs, and human faculties. Part I covers the first six Simple Letters.
After the Three Mothers and Seven Doubles, twelve letters remain — each with a single, unchanging sound. These are the "Twelve Simples" (or "Elementals"), and they govern the twelve months of the Hebrew calendar, the twelve signs of the zodiac, and twelve fundamental human faculties.
Season 4 covers the first six Simple Letters: He (ה), Vav (ו), Zayin (ז), Chet (ח), Tet (ט), and Yod (י). Their values span from 5 to 10 — a range that encompasses the breath of divine revelation (He), the connecting hook that holds Torah together (Vav), the crowned weapon of time (Zayin), the gateway beyond nature into life (Chet), the hidden goodness that the letter Tet conceals within its womb-like form, and the tiny yet infinite point of the Yod — the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet, yet the one from which all other letters begin.
Each of these letters carries layers of meaning that reach from the physical form of the letter itself into the deepest structures of Jewish mysticism and mathematics.
