Seven Planets, Seven Days

How the seven Double Letters map to planets, days, and gates of the soul.

60 min • 5 clips

When the Sefer Yetzirah maps the Seven Double Letters onto the cosmos, the result is a breathtaking system of correspondences that connects letters to planets, days, and the very structure of the human soul.

Bet governs Saturn and Saturday (Shabbat). Gimel governs Jupiter and Thursday. Dalet governs Mars and Tuesday. Kaf governs the Sun and Sunday. Pe governs Venus and Friday. Resh governs Mercury and Wednesday. Tav governs the Moon and Monday. These assignments are not random — each letter's character reflects the nature of its planet. Saturn (Bet) is the planet of structure and containment, mirroring Bet's meaning of "house." Jupiter (Gimel) is the planet of generosity and expansion, mirroring Gimel's meaning of "giving."

The combined Standard gematria of all Seven Doubles is 709 (2 + 3 + 4 + 20 + 80 + 200 + 400). These seven letters also correspond to seven "gates" or openings in the human head: two eyes, two ears, two nostrils, and the mouth — the seven portals through which the soul interacts with the physical world. The Sefer Yetzirah teaches that by meditating on these letters and their cosmic associations, one can align the microcosm (the human body) with the macrocosm (the planetary system).

The Group Assembles

3m

Hebrew letter rendered in luminous gold (#d4af37) against deep Torah blue (#0a1628) background. The letter has subtle inner glow, appears carved from light with soft volumetric rays emanating from its strokes. Style: ancient calligraphic form, David Libre typeface aesthetic, sacred and majestic. 7 Hebrew letters emerge from golden light one by one: ב ג ד כ פ ר ת. Each letter appears with a burst of particles, then drifts to its position in a geometric arrangement — a heptagram. Once all letters are positioned, connection lines appear between them, forming the complete geometric figure. The figure pulses with golden light.

Building, each letter adds an instrument.

The Double Letters

5m

The geometric arrangement from the opening now gains context. Around each letter, its associations appear: for Double Letters, these are the seven classical planets and seven days of the week. Animated diagrams show the correspondence: each letter lights up as its associated element/planet/constellation appears beside it. A table builds showing all correspondences.

Educational, structured. Clear and engaging.

The Combined Value

4m

Mathematical visualization in the style of 3Blue1Brown — clean, elegant lines on dark background. Numbers and equations glow in gold (#d4af37), connection lines pulse in soft blue (#4a6fa5). Smooth animations, precise geometry, educational clarity. Each letter's value appears beside it. Then all values flow into a central summation: an animated addition that builds to the combined value. The final number glows prominently. Below, words that share this value appear, revealing hidden connections to the group as a whole.

Building to a reveal. Satisfying resolution chord.

Internal Relationships

5m

Network graph visualization on dark background (#0a1628). Nodes glow in warm gold (#d4af37), connections pulse in soft blue (#4a6fa5). Labels in clean white Inter typeface. Smooth spring-physics animation. The letters are arranged in their geometric formation. Connection lines of different colors show internal relationships: gold for numerical ratios (which values are multiples of others), blue for AtBash pairs within the group, green for letters that combine to form significant words.

Layered, each connection type adds a musical layer.

The Family Portrait

2m

A final 'family portrait' of the 7 letters: each displayed large and beautiful with its name, value, and key association. The geometric arrangement holds steady as a golden frame appears around it. Channel logo and subscribe button below.

Warm closing theme.
